We have visited Notaras Lodge at Soap Lake for about 7 years, 4-5 times a year!!!!
We are really sorry, but we won't come back to this place due to prices and lack of experience of new management!!!!!
It should be noted the new owners are Seattlites, ans they doubled the prices of everything! Hello! This isn't Seattle! They were managers of apartment buildings. Hotel, concierge and running a restaurant are 3 different entities! The Businessman's Club is closed (didn't want to pay for the liquor license) and Don's is as well. Obviously, the owners are in way over their heads.
I went here years ago when the Greek Sun Room was still around. However, it burnt down, and since my last stay, so has the entire lodge.
Our friends also had problems with check in!!! The room wasn't ready and those poor ladies who clean the rooms were rushing like crazy to have those rooms ready for next guests!!!
It was always a pleasure to stay there, the prices were reasonable, rooms were clean, staff members were always friendly, and we have never experienced any problems!!!!
In a few months, the prices went up even more! The room that was $130 before, become $260!!! 100% increase!!!! That is too much for this type of hotel!!!
My husband and I spent our wedding night here and had to wait for 3 hours for the after hours person to answer the phone after we had prearranged for the time we would be there, ever since the new owners took over the service is worse and worse. We used to come once a month for "alone time" from our kids then we go to book a room this weekend and 1. They didn't answer the phone during business hours after several attempts 2. apparently they excessively raised their rates by 100 dollars! One of the awesome things about it was they were affordable, now at 250.00 a night we found a family presidential SUITE in town for that. To bad was a great place! Just not for that price.
The Inn, the lodge and Don's are a staple of Soap Lake's history! At this point, we may be on the verge of losing them forever.
That place become like a home for healing for many people, but it won't anymore!!!
UNFORTUNATELY, this place was sold and new owner put the prices $20 up/night right away without even upgrading or adding something new there! :( We have experienced difficulties with our check in because the room wasn't ready at 4PM ! (4PM is their check in time) And the lady said that it is OK and we have to wait one hour because they had too many visitors that checked out at 1PM!! It shouldn't concern us as guests what time the previous occupants left, it is totally management's issue and guests have nothing to do with it!! Why do we have to wait? Are we getting a discount? –NO, NO WAY!
With in-laws coming in to town and no place left at our home to stay, my wife and I started looking for available hotel rooms in the area. After discovering that most prices were fairly close to each other, we decided to "treat" my wife's parents to a room at the Notaras Lodge. We chose "Old Mexico", a room that they thoroughly enjoyed. After their stay they told us the staff was helpful and courteous, showed us pictures they had taken of the room and COULD NOT stop talking about how comfortable the new king size bed was. We will definitely continue to recommend the Notaras Lodge to our friends and family!
Love it's remodeled prices are hi g h but I always feel better after the baths.
